2022 Mercedes-AMG S 63 802hp Revealed

A roundup

The most recent generation of the S 63 performance sedan from Mercedes-AMG features an 802 horsepower plug-in hybrid drivetrain.

The 2022 Mercedes-AMG S 63 rides on the seventh-generation S-Class and differs more visually from other S-Class variants than the vehicle it replaces.

The upgraded twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine that powers the new AMG S 63 also features an asynchronous electric motor installed on the back axle and a 13.1kWh lithium-ion battery.

The 2023 model, which will be dubbed the S 63 E Performance, will have 217 more horsepower than the previous S 63 4Matic thanks to the new petrol-electric drivetrain, making it the most potent S-Class model in serial production to date.

The new S 63 tips the scales at 2,595kg, which is a significant 525kg more than its predecessor.
