Two well-known firms in their respective fields, Toyoda Gosei and Asics, have joined forces to develop a ground-breaking new sneaker composed of airbag fabric and steering wheel leather.

Toyoda Gosei, a division of the Toyota Group, is a world leader in the manufacture of airbag fabric

Asics, on the other hand, is a well-known manufacturer of athletic footwear and is a leader in the sportswear industry.

The upper of the new “sustainable shoes” is composed of leftover airbag fabric from production.

A tailored fit is provided by the airbag fabric top, which is made to conform to the curve of the foot.

The sole of the shoe is created out of repurposed steering wheel leather that was once utilized in manufacturing.

Leather is well known for its traction and sturdiness, and it is also water resistant, making it ideal for slick or rainy weather.
