There have been rumors of a new Suzuki Hayabusa for quite a while now, it was removed from sale in Europe last year and was on sale in India till last year with speculations of a BS6 model update soon, read more about it here. There was a patent earlier which was filed for an emissions-friendly exhaust system attached to a new and updated version of the existing Hayabusa engine. Now there is a new patent, which is related to a gear position sensor.
The patent image was originally filed in Japan and shows the same alloy beam frame we saw in the last patent application, it looks more modern and lighter than the chassis found on the current Hayabusa. The engine looks like a lot like the 1340cc 4-cylinder engine found the Busa, sources say that the engine will be larger than that , sharing the bottom-part but will feature revised cylinders with a new head.
The previous patent application showed a new engine fitted with a semi-automatic gearbox but this new application shows a conventional manual gearbox with references to a hand-operated clutch and a foot-operated gear lever.
The next gen Suzuki Hayabusa may launch with two gearbox options, Manual and Semi-Automatic, the launch of the bike is speculated to be in late 2020 or early 2021.
