BMW S 1000 XR Pro has been launched in India, it has been priced at Rs 20.90 Lakhs.
BMW Motorrad has launched the new-gen S 1000 XR in India, only the ‘pro’ variant is on offer for the Indian market and the motorcycle will be made available via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route.
The new-gen BMW S 1000 XR Pro gets major updates in styling and It now gets a new and more aerodynamic fairing, a 2-step adjustable windscreen and a new LED headlamp.
The motorcycle sits on a new chassis that has been derived from the new BMW S 1000 RR and a new swingarm, this has helped cut down over 2 Kg from the kerb weight of the motorcycle.
In the electronics department, the new BMW S 1000 XR comes equipped with a 6.5 inch Full Colour TFT display which gives the rider access to the four riding modes: Rain, Road, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro, the traction control, ABS and Anti-Wheelie settings, DTC and Hill Start Control.
The motorcycle gets BMW’s Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), the Dynamic and Dynamic Pro modes alter the suspension’s damping (front) and preload (rear) in real-time for the best riding experience in accordance to the terrain.
The new-gen BMW S 1000 XR is powered by a 999 cc, inline-four, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine which is able to produce 165 hp of power and 114 nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission and a slipper clutch. The engine has also been derived from the BMW S 1000 RR but has revised manifolds and different cam profiles, with the gearing focused more towards touring.
BMW Motorrad is offering the motorcycle in two colour schemes: Racing Red and Ice Grey.
