Toyota Hyryder CNG Launched At A Price Of INR 13.23 Lakh

In India, Toyota has introduced the Hyryder CNG, with pricing beginning at Rs 13.23 lakh and up to Rs 15.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings for the Hyryder CNG have previously been made available by the brand in November 2022 for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000. The Toyota Hyryder CNG costs Rs 95,000 more than its identical petrol-powered model. After the Maruti Grand Vitara, the Hyryder is the only other midsize SUV with a factory-installed CNG kit.

There are four trim levels for the mild hybrid petrol Hyryder: E, S, G, and V. In contrast, the Hyryder CNG will only be available in S and G trims. Here is a table that compares the cost of the conventional Hyryder with its CNG variant.

The corresponding Delta trim of the Grand Vitara CNG costs Rs 38,000 more than the S trim of the Hyryder CNG. The similar Grand Vitara Zeta CNG costs Rs 45,000 less than the Hyryder G CNG.

The 1.5-liter, four-cylinder K12C engine that powers the Ertiga and XL6 CNG is also used by the Hyryder CNG. The engine produces 103 horsepower and 136 Nm in petrol mode, but just 88 hp and 121.5 Nm in CNG-spec. The Toyota Hyryder CNG, like the majority of CNG cars, is only offered with a 5-speed manual transmission. Toyota estimates the midsize SUV can achieve a fuel efficiency of 26.6km/kg.

Except for the addition of the CNG badging, the Hyryder CNG maintains the mild-hybrid petrol version’s external styling. The Hyryder CNG’s inside is all black, and the switchgear and steering wheel are identical to those of its Grand Vitara rival from Maruti. However, Toyota has added a 60-liter CNG tank to the boot, reducing the amount of storage space compared to the petrol-powered model.

Full-LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, an engine start/stop button, six airbags, cruise control, and a reversing camera with parking sensors are all included in the Hyryder CNG’s G specification.

The Grand Vitara CNG, the only other midsize SUV with a CNG option, will face stiff competition from the Hyryder CNG. It also goes up against midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Nissan Kicks, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
