2020 Land Rover Defender India launch In October

The launch of the 2020 Land Rover Defender India will take place on 15 October 2020. This will also be the first time that the Defender has completed an SUV line-up in the country for sale in India. The new Land Rover Defender is available for either the short 90 (3-door) or the longer 110 (5-door) wheelbase.

Land Rover announced the Defender’s prices earlier this year and opened the reservations for the SUV to Indian customers as well. The prices are for the 90 range, starting with Rs 69.99 – 81.30 lakh and Rs 76.57-86.27 lakh for the 110 range.

There are five versions of the 90 and 110 available. The first customers’ cars will be delivered by the Land Rover distributors across the country on the 15th at the time of its launch, with only 5-door 110. The Defender 90 deliveries start eventually because the COVID-19 pandemic has caused global delays in this particular body style.

A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo-powered petrol motor, which produces 300 hp and 400Nm torque will drive the new Defender Twins. This engine has an 8-speed transmission system and is supplied with the all-wheel unit Land Rover’s Terrain Response. A standard air suspension is provided for the 110 version.

The 2020 Land Rover Defender will be packed with modern features as opposed to its predecessors in terms of characteristics. It consists of a 10-inch touch screen, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with top-of-the-line first edition heads display. The SUV is also equipped with an electrically controlled and heated front seat, an electrical audio system, a surround camera, and LED lights at 360 degrees. The Defender has also grained leather, textile fabric, and rubber mattresses which can easily be washed off-road if they are dirty. Land Rover India is also offering several customization packages.

The Defender 110 will compete directly with the Jeep Wrangler and the Mercedes-Benz G350, although this is a fairly more expensive one. Instead, Defender 90 will not compete directly on the Indian market.
