2021 Mercedes GLA Launched At A Price Of INR 42.10 Lakh
In India, the brand new Mercedes-Benz GLA SUV launches, with initial prices of Rs 42.10 lakh for the petrol-powered GLA 2007 and goes up to Rs 57.3 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the AMG GLA 35 4Matic. From 1 July 2021, the price will be increased up to Rs 1.5 lakh.
Originally scheduled to launch the second-gene GLA in India earlier this year, Mercedes had to be postponed because of the COVID-19 second-wave pandemic which caused several countries to lock.
The GLA 35 4 Matic is a CKD unit and is, thus, the third AMG device to come together in the country. It must not be forgotten. Both the regular GLA and the AMG variants can be booked on the online sales page of Mercedes.
The second generation of GLA SUV is significantly different from the one it is replacing in terms of appearance. The exterior has cleaner and fluid surfaces but also has a robust look – the black covering of the SUV is around the clock. The new GLA appears, in general, much bigger and larger than the previous-gen car.
However, the current GLA is not just more physically bigger than the previous version, since it measures 104mm and has a 30mm longer wheelbase. This created more inner space, especially at the rear – something that was lacking in the previous model.
The AMG version obtains a few design facts that help to differentiate it. This includes the Panamericana gate with conspicuous vertical slats, a bigger wheel, and wider tailpipes with a new roof spoiler. The GLA 35 and the AMG badges are both on the back.
The latest GLA comes very well-appointed in the best format, which includes features such as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto wirelessly-support MBUX touch screen infotainment system as well as a ‘Hey Mercedes’ speaker, a wireless charger, powerful memory front seats, 64 color ambient illumination, and a big sunroof.
The basic GLA with petrol and diesel engine options is available under the hood. The petrol engine is a 1.3-liter, 4-cylinder, 163hp, and 250Nm turbocharger. It comes with a double-speed automatic transmission box with 7 speeds and is included only in the front-wheel-drive system.
A 2.0-liter, the four-cylinder turbocharged motor produces 190hp and 400Nm as a diesel unit with the new GLA. It comes with an 8-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox which can be laid out in both FWD and all-wheel drive systems from Mercedes.
Finally, we have the AMG GLA 35, 4 Matic, which has a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine with a churning capacity of 2.0 hp and 400Nm. Power is transmitted into a dual-clutch automatic transmission box at all four wheels.
In addition to the leading 3-year robust vehicle guarantee segment, Mercedes provides the latest GLA with an 8-year engine and transmission guarantees.
On our markets, the new BMW X1, Volvo XC40, and Mini Countryman are taken on by the new Mercedes GLA. With the arrival of the second-gen Audi Q3 the market will be warmer.
