2021 Porsche 911 GTS Unveiled
The 2021 Porsche 911 GTS 992 generation manages to bridge the gap between Carrera S and the full-bore GT3, offering a “focused,” agile driving experience.
As a regular 911 range-topper, the GTS is characterized aesthetically with a host of specific style indications, while powertrain and chassis modifications are accompanying an enhanced efficiency.
The 3.0-litre, flat-six engine from Porsche’s turbo-loaded Carrera S is up to 480hp in the new GTS. This combined with an 8-speed PDK double-clutch automatic transmission and four-wheel drive and 570Nm of torque enables the GTS coupé to smash the 0-100kph sprint in under 3.3s.
It may also be defined in the rear-wheel-drive version with a 7-speed manual gearbox. Depending on choices there are small changes in performance. Although this only comes with the four-wheeled drive, even the 911 Cabriolet may now be ordered GTS-likened like the 911 Targa.
An adapted suspension setup deriving from the 911 Turbo provides the standard Porsche’s Active Suspension Management System (PASM) with dampers “replying to dynamical changes at lightning speed,” a 10mm decrease in ride height for the coupé and Cabriolet. The uprated 911 Turbo brakes, together with its 20-inch front and 21-inch center-lock wheels, are also transmitted.
On the outside, the trimming characters, the wheel, the exhaust tips, and the spoiler lip, together with the dynamic LED lights and distinctive backlights are painted black.
Meanwhile, the optional Lighthouse Pack, which also removes back seats and adds the rear-axle steering, saves up to 25 lb in carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) bucket seats and thinner window glass, and a lightweight battery.
Otherwise, on the inside, the GTS is distinguished by the extensive use of race textures, models of inlays, and matte carbon fiber trims.
The 2021 Porsche 911 GTS is planned to begin delivered to customers on international markets later this year.
But Porsche is planning whether or not it will introduce the new GTS in India.
Back in 2019, Porsche released 992 of the 911 in India with pricing beginning with Rs 1.82 crore (ex-showroom).
