2022 Hyundai Creta Teased -To Unveil Soon

The much-anticipated 2022 Hyundai Creta will be unveiled next month. As the brand’s first locally-built SUV, the redesigned SUV will be available in Indonesia first. Hyundai has issued a first teaser for the updated Creta, which provides us with an idea of what to expect.

The refreshed Creta has been spotted testing in Indonesia and Korea, and the teaser confirms that the model will get an all-new front design, bringing it more in line with newer models such as the latest-gen Tucson (which has yet to arrive in India) and the recently revealed Santa Cruz pickup truck sold overseas.

The 2022 Hyundai Creta will feature more rectangular headlamps that are positioned a little lower than before as part of the mid-cycle refresh. The new ‘parametric grille,’ as Hyundai puts it, takes center stage and blends in flawlessly with the front fascia and bumper. The teaser doesn’t say whether the new Creta will have the Tucson’s half-mirror LED Daytime Running Lamps, which are only visible when the car is turned on and appear as an extension of the grille otherwise. The rear styling is believed to be comparable to the previously announced mildly revised version in Russia, and we expect some inside enhancements and extra features on the facelift.

Furthermore, reports claim that the Creta facelift in Indonesia would have passive safety technology such as ADAS, at least on higher models.

Hyundai is anticipated to sell the Creta facelift in Indonesia first, with only a 1.5-liter petrol engine, and we don’t expect Hyundai to add a diesel for that market.
According to unconfirmed rumors, the Creta for Indonesia will be available in either a five- or seven-seat configuration. The five-seat Creta will have a similar cabin capacity as the global model, but the seven-seat Creta will be a one-of-a-kind vehicle, with no change in size but a small bench seat in the third row, similar to the seven-seat Sonet offered in the country. The Alcazar, an enlarged version of the Creta with three rows of seats, will continue to be available in India.

2022 Hyundai Creta

The current-generation Creta made its premiere in China as the ix25 in 2019, with the India-spec SUV making its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo in February, making the SUV a little over a year old for our market. While the redesigned car will first go on sale in Indonesia, India is still a ways off, with a debut scheduled in the second half of next year.

The 2022 Hyundai Creta for India will most likely appear similar to the one that will be unveiled in Indonesia soon, but we expect it to have additional features and even contain passive technology such as ADAS.
