2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno To Launch On February, Bookings Open Now
Maruti Suzuki Nexa dealerships have begun taking reservations for the new Baleno, which will go on sale in February. While booking amounts vary by dealer, there is a sense of excitement among Nexa outlets as the new Baleno is their first major launch after a significant gap. According to a few dealers, the launch will take place around February 20, 2022. The new Baleno’s production has already begun at the Gujarat plant.
While much is already known about the new Baleno, here are some key details about the upcoming premium hatchback that will be sold through Maruti Nexa dealerships. As previously stated, the new Baleno will be available in a variety of variants and exterior paint colours, though a detailed feature list has not yet been released. Here’s what we know about the upcoming 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
As previously confirmed by leaked images, almost all body panels of the 2022 Baleno appear to have been redesigned, and when viewed from the front, the car appears wider than its predecessor.
From the front, the new Baleno features L-shaped wraparound headlamps with LED daytime running lights and projector setups depending on the variant. The hood appears to be flatter, but it retains its clamshell design. The new grille has a “smiley look” and is significantly larger.
When viewed from the sides, the new Baleno resembles the outgoing model; however, the front and rear fenders have been redesigned to accommodate new-look head and tail lamps. The 2022 Baleno gets a new tailgate design, new L-shaped tail lamps that now extend all the way to the tailgate, and a new bumper at the back.
The dashboard of the 2022 Baleno will be completely redesigned, with a free-standing infotainment screen taking centre stage. The infotainment system will be upgraded, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among other features.
On the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Maruti Suzuki will include a heads-up display or HUD. The system is unlikely to be as customizable as those found in luxury vehicles, but it will still be possible to configure the display in a number of useful ways.
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno will have up to six airbags on top models, including driver and passenger airbags as well as curtain bags for both front and rear passengers. Higher-end models may also include the Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno is expected to retain its two 1.2-litre petrol engines – one producing 83hp and another producing 90hp with 12V mild-hybrid technology – and these are expected to remain unchanged. There have been rumours of a full-hybrid version of the car, but we don’t expect it to be released with this update.
While the manual gearbox is expected to remain, Maruti is likely to replace the current Baleno’s CVT unit with an AMT unit similar to that found in the Swift.
While the Baleno remains one of the most popular cars sold in India, it has faced competition from newer products from Tata and Hyundai that offer more creature comforts and better technology.
