2023 Ather 450X New Variant Launched At A Price Of Rs 98,183

A new base model of the 450X electric scooter from Ather Energy is now available in the nation for Rs 98,183 (ex-showroom, Delhi, with FAME II and state subsidy). The new base edition of the electric scooter has fewer features and a slow charger in our market. The scooter is intended to meet the needs of buyers searching for reasonable costs and basic features, claims the EV producer. However, Ather Energy also has a 450X ProPack model. It comes with a fast charger and a number of other functions. The ProPack variant of the electric scooter costs Rs 30,000 more than the base model. The hardware for the ProPack model and the new entry-level model is identical.

But the warranty, charger, and features of these versions vary. To preserve an affordable pricing structure, the 2023 Ather 450X base edition no longer has a number of sophisticated capabilities and connection options. The new entry-level version of the Ather 450X’s specifications, functionality, and design are fully described here.

The e-scooter is unchanged mechanically from before. It continues to use the 6.4kW motor’s output. It boasts a 146-kilometre driving range on a single charge. Additionally, the scooter has a top speed of 90 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.3 seconds. The new entry-level model and the feature-rich ProPack variant have the same design, structure, wheels, suspension, and colour options as the engine. These Ather 450X models, however, differ from one another in terms of charging, warranty, and features, as was already noted. The new base version doesn’t offer any ride modes. Instead, there is a default setting that in practice offers acceleration and performance similar to what the Pro Pack scooter’s Ride mode offers.

On the feature front, the new base edition has a 7-inch touchscreen display, but it is only offered in grayscale. Contrarily, the top-tier 450X ProPack model features a multi-colour display. Additionally, the 450X base edition lacks connection features including document storage, ride statistics, smartphone pairing, OTA updates, onboard maps, and navigation, as well as push location from the Ather app and multi-stop trip planning. Additionally, the new base 450X edition lacks features like a hill assist, park assist, and tyre pressure monitoring system.

The 3.7kWh battery pack from the ProPack variant is available in the base edition. It has a shorter charge time than its more sophisticated version, though. While the battery on the standard model needs to be recharged for 15 hours and 20 minutes, the battery on the 450X ProPack just needs 5 hours and 40 minutes. The standard edition of the 450X e-scooter uses a home charger, which accounts for the significant disparity in charging periods between the two types.

Both the base model and the ProPack version have a comparable 3-year/30,000-mile warranty that covers both the vehicle and the charger. Nevertheless, the Ather 450X’s battery warranty is 3 years/30,000 kilometres for the base model and 5 years/60,000 kilometres for the ProPack model.
