2023 BMW 520d M Sport Launched
The 2023 BMW 520d M Sport has been formally introduced in India. The cost of the BMW M Sport 520d’s retail pricing in the market is Rs. 68.90 lahks (ex-showroom). The new model is the most recent addition to the 5 series lineup, which excludes several current versions. The 530d M Sport, the 520d Luxury Line, and the 50 Jahre M Edition have all been quietly dropped from the German manufacturer’s lineup for the 5 series.
According to rumors, the 3.0-liter diesel engine used in the 530d has been discontinued, and the top-of-the-line M5 Competition has been removed from the company’s official website. The new 520d M Sport and the 530i M Sport are the only two models left in the 5 series after this redesign.
Instead of the Luxury Line, BMW now offers the recently released premium sedan in the 520d M Sport specification. However, the current 530i M Sport trim, which sells for Rs 65.40 lakh, remains unchanged. Everything is priced ex-showroom.
2023 520d M Sport has a sportier-looking exterior than the previous generation, which is slightly different. The M Aerodynamics kit includes redesigned front and rear bumpers with air sills for the vehicle. Moreover, it has chrome tip exhausts, blue brake calipers, 18-inch alloy wheels, and M-badging.
Interior improvements include M-specific Sports seats, door sills with M badges, floor mats, and an M leather steering wheel. Over the Luxury Line, it also receives BMW’s Laserlight technology. The 520d M Sport comes equipped with a host of features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system running the iDrive 7 operating system, a heads-up display, a Harman sound system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four drive modes, a BMW display key, remote parking, ambient lighting, and more.
Powertrain is the same, thus the new 520d M Sport employs the same 2.0-liter diesel engine that produces a maximum of 188 horsepower and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The engine is connected to an automated gearbox with 8 gears. The new vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, according to the manufacturer.
The Jaguar XF D200 and Mercedes-Benz E220d are the immediate rivals of the BMW 520d M Sport.
