The BMW X4 M Sport 50 Jahre M Edition has visual upgrades over the normal X4 in the form of an M Aerodynamic package that comprises body-colored front and rear skid plates and side sills. The SUV comes with a gloss black kidney grille, 20-inch black alloy wheels, and gloss red-lacquered brake calipers, and is only offered in two paint colors: Black Sapphire and M Brooklyn Grey metallic.

The BMW X4 M Sport 50 Jahre M Edition SUV has a distinctive appearance with semicircles in blue, violet, and red color. It also has extra M insignia, at the front, back, and on the hub caps, inspired by early BMW Motorsport race cars.

Two accessory packages are available from BMW for the limited edition vehicle. The first is the Motorsport package, which comes with an Alcantara-finished key fob, a carbon fiber-finished gear knob, and a matte black rear spoiler. The kidney grille, rear spoiler, and wing mirrors are all completed in carbon fiber as part of the Carbon Package.

The interior design resembles that of the regular X4 M Sport. The sport seats on the special edition X4 have Vernasca leather with black contrast stitching, and the interior is dark with Pearl Chrome accents and an Aluminum Rhombicle color scheme. The 50 Jahre M Edition of the X4 is equipped with the same equipment as the normal model, including a panoramic sunroof, six-color ambient lighting, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
