Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Launched At A Price Rs 12.74 Lakh

The five-door variant of the new Jimny has been formally introduced by Maruti Suzuki in India, with a starting MSRP of Rs. 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom). 3,985mm in length, 1,645mm in width, and 1,720mm in height are the dimensions of the Jimny 5-door. The new Jimny is shorter than the Mahindra Thar, measuring just under 4 metres. The Jimny’s boot has a capacity of 208 litres, which is about average for a vehicle of its size. When the back seats are folded down, the boot expands to 332 litres. Retro elements like the rounded dials, the rubber boot behind the gear lever, etc. can be seen in the interior design.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny has a 2,950mm wheelbase, 210mm of ground clearance, and a ladder frame chassis as its foundation. The new Jimny has a number of new design features, including rounded headlamps, a slatted grille, slab-sided doors, upright pillars, flared wheel arches, and off-road tyres. The vehicle is supported by 195/80 section tyres mounted on 15-inch alloy wheels.

The new Jimny comes in seven different exterior paint options. There are five monochromatic alternatives (Bluish Black, Granite Grey, Pearl Arctic White, Sizzling Red, and Nexa Blue), as well as two dual-tone variations (Kinetic Yellow with Black Roof and Sizzling Red with Black Roof).

With a 9-inch multimedia touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, an electronic stability programme with hill hold assist and hill descent control, a limited-slip differential (LSD), ABS with EDB, a rear-view camera, projector headlamps with washers, and even 6 airbags on all variants, the new Jimny is well-equipped.

The Jimny 5-door SUV is propelled by a solitary 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated K15B petrol engine that produces a maximum of 103 bhp at 6,000 rpm and a maximum of 134 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Both a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed automatic torque converter gearbox are available. The Zeta and Alpha models will have access to both gearbox options.

A standard AllGrip Pro 4WD system with a manual transfer case and a low-range transmission with 2WD-high, 4WD-high, and 4WD-low modes is also included with the Jimny.

The manual versions of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door have a fuel efficiency rating of 16.94 km/l (certified by ARAI). While the fuel efficiency of the automatic versions is stated to be 16.39 km/l. The manual and automatic versions of the Jimny have ranges of 678 km and 656 km, respectively, with a gasoline tank capacity of 40 l.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door costs between Rs 12.74 lakh and Rs 15.05 lakh for the top-spec Alpha variant in the Indian market. Ex-showroom pricing. It competes with the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha at this pricing point.
