Tata Nexon Prices Hiked Up To Rs 15,000

Tata Motors has raised the prices of the Nexon compact SUV by a maximum of Rs 13,000 and Rs 15,000 for both petrol and diesel models, respectively.

This, of course, is part of the price increase announced by Tata Motors at the start of the year. However, this is the second increase in Nexon prices in two months, with the previous one occurring only in November 2021. Tata Motors claims that the price increase is due to rising input, operational, and commodity costs.

Prices for Nexon petrol have increased in the range of Rs 5,000-Rs 13,000 depending on the variant. Only the Nexon petrol’s XZ+ Dark trim does not see a price increase. The Nexon petrol now starts at Rs 7.39 lakh, up from Rs 7.29 lakh last month, and goes up to Rs 11.89 lakh.

The diesel variants of the Nexon have increased in price by Rs 5,000-Rs 15,000 (approximately). Surprisingly, many Nexon diesel variants are unaffected by the price increase. Tata Motors has also quietly added a new XMA (S) trim level to the Nexon diesel lineup. The Nexon diesel now has a starting price of Rs 9.69 lakh and a maximum price of Rs 13.34 lakh.

The Tata Nexon is powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 120hp and 170Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine produces 110hp and 260Nm of torque. Both engines are available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT transmission. The Nexon is available in 22 different configurations.

The Tata Nexon competes in the highly competitive compact SUV segment, alongside the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
