Tata Safari Dark Edition Launched At A Price Of INR 19.05 Lakh

The new Dark Edition variant is the latest addition to the Tata Safari lineup, making it the fifth Tata model to be offered with this variant. Safari Dark Edition prices start at Rs 19.05 lakh and go up to Rs 22.51 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Oberon Black is the paint color used on the Dark Edition Safari (the same shade as on the Harrier Dark Edition). Tata has added gloss black accents to the grille, headlight surrounds, and window surrounds (which are all chrome on the standard model), as well as black 18-inch alloy wheels. The only chrome on this new trim can be found on the Tata and Dark Edition badges. These modifications are consistent with what Tata has done with the other Dark Editions models – Altroz, Nexon, Nexon EV, and Harrier.

Inside, the Safari is now available with an all-black theme throughout the cabin, as well as a ‘Blackstone Matrix’ insert on the dashboard. Previously, the Safari was only available with a white or beige interior theme, even on special variants such as the Adventure and Gold edition.

The Safari Dark Edition is well-equipped, given that it is based on the higher XT+ and XZ+ trims of the standard SUV. As a result, its top-spec trim includes an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, ventilated first and second-row seats (also available on the Safari Gold Edition), a wireless charger, JBL audio system, Tata iRA connected car tech, 7.0-inch part-digital instrument cluster, an air purifier, panoramic sunroof, and leatherette seat upholstery.

The same 170hp, 350Nm, 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine powers the new Safari Dark edition. Like the regular Safari, the Dark Edition trim is available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

2022 Tata Safari Dark

The new Tata Safari Dark Edition competes with our market’s other three-row midsize SUV offerings, such as the new Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar.
