The second-gen Audi A7 is all set for its Indian debut. And our commercial variant will be none other than the ballistic RS7. The model was just teased on the website of Audi India and will go on sale in July.

The last-gen RS7 was about brute force and the new car remains faithful to the formula. Power comes from an upgraded 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, now also associated with a 48V mild-hybrid system. Peak output is at a whopping 600hp, while a titanic 800Nm max torque.

The last-gen RS7 did 560hp (605hp for Competition) and 700Nm for comparison. The drive is sent via Audi Quattro AWD and an 8-speed torque converter gearbox to all four wheels. The Super Sedan has an estimated 3.6sec time of 0-100kph.

The 2020 Audi RS7 shares the stretched and low silhouette with standard A7 but the bonnet, front doors, and boot lid are the only common body panels that are interestingly enough. The tail is brought up by the rear bumper which features a large diffuser surrounding the typical RS oval exhausts. 21-inch rims are standard whilst 22-inch rims are an option in foreign markets.

The interior is a new-age Audi that has a dual-touchscreen dash layout. But Alcantara trim and a large paddle shifter RS steering make the cabin look the business. For the first time, the 2020 Audi RS7 can bespectacled on international markets as a 5-seater – with a middle rear seat. Audi is sure to offer its full personalization catalog to buyers in India.

The 2020 Audi RS7 will probably be priced above Rs 1.7 crore (estimated, ex-showroom), putting it in the same price space as models such as the Mercedes-AMG E63 S and the BMW M5 Competition.
