TVS has updated the Apache RTR 160 4V to comply with the new BS6 norms. It also comes with a host of new updates. lets go through them.
The engine is the same 159.7cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox, but it now produces less power and torque at 16.02 PS and 14.12 Nm and is now fuel injected to comply with the BS6 norms, expect a crisper throttle response. The bike now comes with a new segment-first feature called GTT (Glide Through Traffic), when the clutch is released without applying throttle, the bike moves at a constant speed, it helps during low-speed city traffic riding.
In terms of visuals, the bike has an all-new LED headlamp that has Claw-Styled position lamps and gives the bike a new and refreshed look. The bike now comes with single-channel ABS, it misses out on the SmartXonnect system found on the RTR 200 4V and continues to use the old instrument cluster found on the BS4 model. It also comes with a feather-touch start system.
TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is available in three colours: Racing Red, Metallic Blue and Knight Black. It comes in two variants, Drum and Disc, the former comes with a Drum Brake at the rear wheel and the other comes with Twin Disc brakes. The pricing for the bike is as follows-:
