2021 Force Gurkha To Launch Soon

In the coming months, the all-new Force Gurkha will be released. The SUV, which was spotted in a dark green colour, made its premiere at the Auto Expo 2020 and was set to go on sale in mid-2020.

2021 Force Gurkha

The forthcoming Force Gurkha may resemble the previous model, but it is a whole new model. The new Gurkha is built on a ladder frame chassis that has been upgraded to satisfy current crash test and pedestrian safety standards. It keeps the boxy design and boot-mounted spare wheel of its predecessor, but adds new bumpers, LED headlights, reworked taillights, and a new front grille.

The new Gurkha will be available in three and five-door models, with four-wheel and two-wheel drive options, similar to the outgoing model. The new Gurkha will have an independent front double-wishbone suspension and a five-link, rigid-axle rear suspension with coil springs all around. Low range will be available on all four-wheel-drive models, as well as front and rear axle differential locks.

2020 Force Gurkha

The interior of the 2021 Force Gurkha has also been updated, with a reworked dashboard arrangement and a dual-tone interior colour scheme to give it a more premium feel. A touchscreen infotainment system, a redesigned instrument cluster, and a digital multi-info display will also be included in the SUV. Tilt-and-telescopic adjustable steering, dual airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, and power windows are also expected on the new Gurkha. The cabin will have four forward-facing seats in the first row, two individual seats in the second row, and two jump seats in the boot section.

In order to boost sales of the off-roader, Force Motors will also provide a vast list of customization choices for the new Gurkha.

2020 Force Gurkha

The outgoing model’s Mercedes-derived 2.6-litre diesel engine will be carried over to the new Force Gurkha, but in BS6 form. The engine produces 90 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque and comes standard with a 5-speed manual transmission. The 140hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine from the previous Gurkha Extreme is unlikely to return with the new Gurkha.

The 2021 Force Gurkha was supposed to debut in the middle of 2020. The COVID-19 epidemic, however, threw a kink in the works, delaying the SUV’s release. During the pandemic, Force Motors saw an increase in demand for the Traveller ambulance, which forced the company to put the manufacture of the new Gurkha on hold.

The 2021 Force Gurkha is slated to be released in the coming months, with a price tag of around Rs 10-12 lakh (ex-showroom). The Gurkha will face off against other ladder-frame off-roaders such as the new Mahindra Thar and the impending 5-door Suzuki Jimny.
