At the end of this month, the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be launched in India. The luxurious Mercedes limousine is first sold in a special Launch Edition including a selection of six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.

The 2021 Mercedes S-Class was shown last year and is bigger than the outgoing flagship, which has a lot of technology. The premium sedan with a large list of functionality, some of which can be available as options on the cars manufactured locally, will make its debut in India with a CBU import launch edition.

From the outside, Mercedes’ new ‘Digital Light’ LED headlights will be presented in the 2021 Mercedes S-Class Launch. The devices may project symbols and guides onto the surface of the road. The Launch Edition comes with the most crucial rear-wheel steering and pop-out door handles. The latter should make it much more nimble and simpler to maneuver luxury limousines. The Launch Editions have an AMG line trim that gives the vehicles a more sporty appearance with more attacking design features and alloy wheels.

Move into the interior and the new 12.8″ portrait-orientated touchscreen from Mercedes will be welcomed to include a digital, hefty dashboard with a 12.3-inch instrument view behind the headset. Mercedes’s most recent MBUX system (NTG7) and the facial, voice, and fingerprint recognition incorporate the new OLED touch panel. The system also receives air updates like with other MBUX equipped Mercedes. The machine will also have a storage value of 320GB and 16GB of memory.

64 color dynamic ambient lighting, the 4D sound system from Burmester, and the massage of seats in the front are also featured on the Launch Edition model.
Moving backward, the S-class Launch Edition will be equipped with a chauffeur package which will allow the passers-by to adjust the co-driving position from the rear seat, rear-seat entertainment screens, and a central tablet controller for various in-car functions. The bench with the outer seat will be adjustable electrically. The luxury limousine is also fitted with rear front airbags, another unique characteristic of the S-class.

A variety of active driver support devices will also be part of the equipment.

Buyers can pick from five colors: Diamond White, Onyx Black, Rubellite Blue, and Emerald Green. Busy colors can be purchased. The former two are available with Macchiato beige or Sienna brown Nappa leather polishing, the remaining three are available in both colors.

The 2021 Mercedes S-Class Launch will be available in two versions, the 400d diesel 4Matic and the 450 4Matic petrol. In another huge new Mercedes in India, the S 400d will employ the classic OM656 inline-six diesel engine and generate a 326hp and remarkable 700Nm of torque. The S 450 petrol also has a six turbo-powered unit with 362hp and a torque of 500Nm. The standard for both versions is the all-wheel drive and the 9-speed automatic transmission.

The 2021 Mercedes S-Class, like its predecessor, will be in conflict with its traditional opponents in the Indian market, especially BMW 7 and Audi A8.
In addition to its conventional long-duty range, Mercedes is also bringing its Maybach S-Class flagship in India in the months ahead. Mercedes’ latest all-electric car, EQS flagship sedan, is likely to follow up on these.
