2022 Citroen C5 Aircross Launched At A Price Of Rs 36.67 Lakh

Citroen has made the facelifted C5 Aircross available in India for an initial price of Rs 36.67 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The entry-level Feel trim that was offered with the pre-facelift model is no longer available since the 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross is only available in one fully-loaded Shine (dual tone) trim in India.

While the C5 Aircross facelift has the same 2.0-liter diesel engine under its hood, it receives a significantly updated front appearance and a whole new interior with extra amenities.

The 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross visual improvements are mostly focused on the front fascia. The single-piece headlights that diverge at the edges have a neater design in place of the layered split-headlamp appearance of the pre-facelift model. Two sets of LED Daytime Running Lamps have been added to the wraparound headlamps, and they now align with the grille, which has the double Chevron emblem positioned in the middle of it.

A new faux silver skid plate, wider, deep-set air intakes on either side and a cleaner-looking front bumper are all characteristics that are believed to improve the aerodynamics of the car. The central air inlet is smaller and does away with the block-like design components. A new design for the 18-inch alloy wheels is the only major alteration to the side appearance. In terms of the rear, it is likewise substantially comparable to the preceding design, with the exception of the redesigned taillamps, which now have rectangular lighting components and a darker finish.

Four colors are offered for the 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross: Pearl White, Perla Nera Black, Cumulus Grey, and a brand-new shade dubbed Eclipse Blue.

An extensive set of modifications have been made to the inside as well. A bigger, independent 10-inch infotainment system has been installed in place of the 8.0-inch touchscreen that was incorporated into the dashboard. While the horizontal, more conventional-looking units below have taken the place of the cube-shaped AC vents that flanked the infotainment screen. The infotainment system’s touch-based shortcut keys have been kept, although they are now located underneath the air conditioning vents.
The traditional gear lever has been replaced with a new toggle switch in the center console, which has also undergone a minor update. A new rectangular button has taken the place of the center console’s circular dial for the driving modes. Graphics and the user interface have been improved on the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The second row of the C5 Aircross has three separate sliding, reclining, and retractable seats. Citroen claims that an additional 15mm of cushioning has improved the comfort of the seats. Additionally, there is new upholstery for the seats, armrests, and center console that is made of a combination of leather and fabric and has a black and grey finish.

The updated C5 Aircross maintains its previous equipment list, including a motorized driver seat, dual-zone temperature control, panoramic sunroof, hands-free tailgate opening, hands-free parking, six airbags, ESC, and traction control. It also adds automatic wipers and LED lighting. The boot has a 580-liter capacity that can be increased to 1,630 liters.

The 2.0-liter diesel engine continues to power the redesigned C5 Aircross in India. With an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission and a maximum output of 177 horsepower and 400 Nm, this engine exclusively drives the front wheels. For the C5 Aircross, Citroen claims a fuel economy of 17.5 kpl.

The 2.0-liter engine has already been discontinued in foreign countries, where it has been replaced by 1.5-liter diesel, petrol, or petrol-hybrid engine options as part of Citroen’s global phase-out of diesel engines. However, India still uses the smooth and powerful 2.0-liter diesel engine, which perfectly complements the C5 Aircross’s calm and comfort-focused personality.

The Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, and Volkswagen Tiguan are just a few examples of the vehicles that directly compete with the C5 Aircross facelift in India. While diesel and gasoline engines are available for the Tucson and Compass, only gasoline is available for the Tiguan.
