2022 MG Hector Design Unveiled
MG plans to introduce the redesigned MG Hector in India during the holiday season. Following the teaser for the 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, MG has now unveiled the redesigned SUV’s front end.
The updated front end is depicted in the latest teaser image, and it features a sizable diamond-mesh grille with prominent chrome surrounds at the top that is “inspired by the Argyle.” Recent spy images of the upgraded Hector provide fresh hints regarding the improved SUV’s design, suggesting that the front bumpers and headlights have been modified.
The 2022 MG Hector will keep the previous model’s alloy wheel design, according to the spy photos.
The new 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the largest in any car sold in India thus far, will be the biggest change on the inside. The previous teaser image from MG also reveals an updated center console with a new flowing design, a new gear lever, and a changed dashboard design with new horizontal AC vents.
Beyond the 14-inch touchscreen and visual upgrades, the new Hector has undergone significant changes. The revised Hector will have advanced driver assistance systems, just as its stablemates, the Gloster, Astor, and ZS EV (ADAS). It will therefore be equipped with active safety technologies such as lane keep assist, blind spot recognition, rear cross-traffic alert, front collision warning, and lane departure warning. The ADAS sensors and cameras will likely be mounted on the windscreen of the updated SUV.
The powertrain options, though, are not anticipated to alter. Two 1.5-liter petrol engines, one of which is mildly hybrid, will continue to be used in the Hector facelift, along with a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine with 170 horsepower.
The 2022 MG Hector will sit atop the current model, as we had previously reported. Price-wise, the new Hector is probably going to cost between Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 2 lakh more than the present model. The Hector Plus will soon receive a comparable update as well.
