2022 Toyota Innova Hycross Teased
Toyota Indonesia has unveiled the teaser picture for the next Innova Hycross, which is scheduled to make its global premiere next month. The image shows the MPV’s bold-looking front grille along with its sleek headlights and some of the bumper. The 2022 Toyota Innova Hycross is anticipated to make its debut in the Indonesian market, where it is likely to be introduced under the nameplate “Innova Zenix.” Following the worldwide unveil, the India debut of Toyota’s next strong-hybrid MPV is anticipated to occur in the first quarter of 2023.
Only the front of the MPV is shown in the teaser image, which has twin barrel LED headlight units on either side of a wide hexagonal grille, an upright nose, an aggressive-looking hood, a housing for the fog lamps in the shape of a sharp triangle on the bumper, and a skid plate further down. We can confirm that the MPV will have horizontally positioned taillamps and 10-spoke alloy wheels that perfectly suit the wheel wells based on spy photos of the test mules so far.
The current-generation Corolla marketed outside is supported by Toyota’s worldwide modular TNGA-C platform, which is also the foundation for the Innova Hycross. The 2022 Toyota Innova Hycross features a flat floor since this is the first time an Innova will be constructed on a front-wheel drive monocoque chassis. The new Innova Hycross claims to be larger and substantially roomier inside because of its 4.7 meters in length and 2,080 millimeters in wheelbase.
The business also makes it practical by offering a variety of 7 and 8-seater combinations. Unlike the Urban Crusier Hyryder, the Hycross won’t have a diesel engine to choose from under the hood. Instead, it will be driven by a robust hybrid petrol engine. A 2.0-liter engine with about 190 horsepower will be used in the hybrid drivetrain of the Innova Hycross, and it will be connected to the front wheels through an e-CVT transmission.
The Toyota Safety Sense platform is planned to have a variety of safety technologies, including ADAS, in the Japanese MPV crossover. It could have features like lane departure warning with steering assistance, dynamic radar cruise control, aid for road signs, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, etc. In order to comply with the 6-airbag requirement that will go into effect in October 2023, Toyota may also provide 6 airbags as standard equipment starting with the basic model. The interiors would be fully equipped with wireless charging, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a sunroof, a touchscreen entertainment system, and captain chairs for the second row.
