2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge Launch Date Revealed
The 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge, which will be locally assembled, will be introduced by Volvo on July 26 in India. The electric SUV that will be delivered to us is essentially a facelifted version of the XC40 Recharge, with more aggressive bumpers and a new version of the “Thor’s Hammer” DRL. The XC40 Recharge will have two electric motors with a combined output of 408 horsepower and a stated driving range of 418 kilometers.
The Volvo XC40 Recharge has a 78kWh battery, which, according to the WLTP cycle, provides the SUV a stated range of 418 kilometers. It can quickly charge a car to 80 percent capacity in 33 minutes using a 150kW DC output. Volvo claims that the XC40 Recharge can charge to 100 percent in around 2.5 hours using a more accessible 50kW fast charger.
In comparison to the petrol-powered counterpart, the SUV’s two electric motors on each axle produce 408hp and 660Nm of torque. But the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge weighs 400 kg more, at 1,188 kg.
Sharper dials, the new Android-based infotainment system, an optional interior without leather, and new telematics from the Volvo XC60 facelift are all included in the XC40 Recharge. A panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, connected car technology, powered front seats with memory, and Level 2 autonomous driving capability are further features available.
The auto manufacturer’s Hoskote plant, which is close to Bengaluru, will assemble the XC40 Recharge. This will probably lower the price of the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge compared to other high-end EVs. When it arrives, the XC40 Recharge will compete against the recently released Kia EV6 and the planned locally produced Hyundai Ioniq 5.
