2022 Yamaha MT15 Launch Soon With Major updates
Yamaha is set to release an updated version of the MT 15 in India. The motorcycle is likely to undergo a few changes, one of which will be the addition of a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster. Although the exact launch date is unknown, our dealer sources believe it will be in February or March 2022.
This isn’t surprising given that the new Yamaha YZF R15 V4 already has Bluetooth connectivity thanks to a previous update. Because the 2022 Yamaha MT15 shares the majority of its components with the R15, it’s only a matter of time before the latter gets Bluetooth as well. In fact, even the less expensive FZ S FI and FZ X have this capability.
The list of changes may not be limited to new features. In addition, the new YZF R15 V4 has upside-down front forks, as opposed to the older telescopic setup. With Yamaha going all out with its premium offerings, the MT 15 should get inverted forks like the R15 in its next update. The 155cc liquid-cooled engine with variable valve actuation will remain largely unchanged. It produces 18.23bhp and 13.9Nm and is mated to a six-speed transmission.
The 2022 Yamaha MT15’s current ex-showroom price rises to Rs 1.50 lakh (for Monster Energy edition). The aforementioned revisions will result in significant price increases.
