2023 BMW M2 India Bound To Launch In May

BMW is preparing to launch the second-generation M2 (G87) in India, and the pricing of the new BMW M2 is expected to be revealed around May 2023. Bookings for the new BMW M2 will start soon, according to sources.

In terms of size, the 2023 BMW M2 is 114mm longer than the M2 from the previous generation but 219mm shorter than the M4 at 4,575mm bumper to bumper. The new BMW M2 receives an aggressive body package that comprises a beautiful and practical rear spoiler, a low-slung rear diffuser in the manner of the GT, quad-exit exhausts, and a distinctive front end with frameless horizontal kidney grilles and wide-set headlamps. The new BMW M2’s interior has a curved infotainment and instrumentation panel with M-specific graphics.

The 2023 BMW M2 receives special strengthening bracing for the front struts, a custom aluminium sub-frame, strengthened C-pillars, and track-focused, M-specific adaptive suspension and steering calibrations as far as structural improvements go. Huge 380mm front and 370mm rear discs, which are held in place by six- and one-piston callipers, respectively, and are painted blue as standard, are responsible for the vehicle’s stopping power.

The hardcore competition option, which was the only one available on the previous-generation car here, won’t be available on the second-generation BMW M2 when it arrives in India as a “regular” M2. The second-generation BMW M2 rival has yet to make its international debut. The newest generation BMW M2 is being produced in Mexico and will be marketed in our market as a complete import. It is the last pure-combustion model produced by BMW’s M division because all BMW M vehicles that have been unveiled since the M2 will be powered by an electric motor.

The BMW R6 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 engine that powers the M2 produces 460 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. Even for purchasers in India, a 6-speed manual gearbox will be an option in addition to the 8-speed Steptronic transmission that would be standard.

The 2023 BMW M2 in India will have five exterior paint colour options, including Zandvoort Blue, Toronto Red, Brooklyn Grey, and Alpine White. Customers will have the option of either Black or Cognac interior colours, with BMW M Sport seats and metal accents on the dashboard coming as standard.

Comfort access system, power seats with memory, M seat belts, adaptive LED headlamps with high beam assist, Harman Kardon audio system, BMW connected package, wireless charging, M Shadowline trim with extended contents, and staggered silver finish M light 19-inch alloy wheels (930M) in the front and 20-inch at the rear will all be standard on the BMW M2 that will be shipped to India.

Adaptive cruise control, BMW Driving Assistant, M Carbon roof (which reduces weight by 6kg), M compound brakes with Red high gloss finish, all-black alloy wheels, M branded puddle lamps, M carbon-fibre bucket seats, full leather Merino upholstery, and M carbon-fibre trim are among the optional extras for the BMW M2 that will be sold in India. The M Sport Pro package or the M Driver’s package are further options that BMW will sell as separate packages.

Bookings are anticipated to start shortly for the new BMW M2, which will be on sale in India probably in May of this year. The M2 is anticipated to cost about Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom).
