2023 Hyundai Verna Unveiled

The first batch of Verna car teasers from Hyundai has been made public. By May 2023, the completely revamped Verna, code-named BN7i, will be available for purchase. Bookings for the brand new 2023 Hyundai Verna are being accepted for a deposit of Rs 25,000. Hyundai has revealed facts on the upcoming Verna’s engine and variations in addition to the teasers and booking information.

2023 Hyundai Verna Unveiled 1

The next-generation Hyundai Verna has an entirely new look, but judging by the teasers, quite a few latest-generation Hyundai cars have had their aesthetic influences subtly included.

The current generation Hyundai Grandeur car marketed worldwide has a twin-layer headlight configuration with the new Verna, giving it a stunning new snout. The almost full-width grille has several cuts and creases, and the grille elements resemble those on the Tucson SUV and the current Elantra sedan, which isn’t offered in our market. A full-width horizontal light bar that doubles as an LED daytime running lamp is added to the 2017 Verna, a feature that is already present on other Hyundai vehicles including the Grandeur sedan and the Staria MPV.

As shown in the second teaser, the 2023 Hyundai Verna has more cuts and creases on the sides than its predecessor and resembles a notchback more than a traditional sedan. As with previous Hyundai cars marketed worldwide, anticipate additional creases on the doors and other side panels.

The Taillamps of the new Vernas stick out from the upper side, giving them a distinctive appearance. The new Verna’s taillamps are once more attached to an LED light bar and have crystal-like inserts. The light bar also receives two vertical extensions that are positioned on either side, giving the car a distinctive appearance. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, the same setup might also be present on the new Verna’s front design.

2023 Hyundai Verna Unveiled 2

Hyundai India has unveiled the new sedan’s engine specifications in addition to partially displaying the new Verna’s styling. The new Verna will be powered by two 1.5-litre petrol engines. The cornerstone of The Verna lineup will be a brand-new 1.5-litre turbo direct injection petrol engine that produces about 160 horsepower. A 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT (the first for a Verna) will be available with this engine. The majority of Hyundai-Kia vehicles in India, including the Creta, Seltos, and Carens, will use this unit in place of its 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engines. The base engine for the Verna will be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an IVT CVT automatic.

This engine is anticipated to be the same one that currently powers the Creta, Seltos, and Carens. The new Hyundai Verna won’t have a diesel engine option. Additionally, because no other competitors had a diesel engine to offer, the mid-size car sector will now only be available with gasoline engines. The new Verna’s engines will be RDE and E20 ethanol compliant, according to Hyundai.

The 2019 Verna will be offered in EX, S, SX, and SX(O) variant levels, with the higher ones likely to be equipped with the 1.5-litre TGDI engine. Make do with the 1.5-litre NA engine in the entry-level models.

The 2017 Verna will be available from Hyundai in two dual-tone and seven single-tone exterior paint colour choices. The sedan will get three new paint colour options: Abyss Black, Atlas White, and Tellurian Brown, according to the manufacturer.

With reservations still available, anticipate Hyundai to provide further information about the new Verna in the coming days, with a pricing announcement occurring before May of this year. In comparison to its predecessor, the 2023 Hyundai Verna will be a much better competitor to vehicles like the VW Virtus, Skoda Slavia, the impending facelifted Honda City sedan, and the ageing Maruti Suzuki Ciaz when it enters serial production in the coming months. Because of the new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, anticipate the 2018 Verna to cost more than the current model.
