2023 Yamaha R3, R7, MT03, MT07, MT09 To Launch In India Soon

The 2023 Yamaha R3 and MT-03 appear to be the most alluring option for the Indian market out of the five, revitalizing the quarter-liter class.
The Indian motorcycle community has been hounding Team Blue for some unique motorcycles for a very long time. With simply the YZF-R15, Yamaha can’t quench the desire of Indian devotees. Unbelievably, Yamaha’s current flagship model for India is a 150cc motorcycle with a fairing. It appears like Yamaha is finally delivering some of its large motorcycles to India.

We’re referring to the street-fighter motorbike models MT-09, MT-07, and MT-03. At a recent event, these were displayed to dealers. According to our sources, Yamaha also plans to introduce all three motorcycles before the end of this year. Let’s look at it.

Our attention was focused on the MT-03 out of all the motorcycles displayed at this recent dealer event. Although R3 was preferable to us, an R15 is still preferable, right? The MT-03 won’t have flashy gadgets like a TFT screen, but it will still be functional. It’s likely to have riding modes, traction control, ride-by-wire, and ABS.

The MT-03 was displayed to dealers in the Grey and Cyan color scheme, but when it is officially released, more hues will be available. The MT-03 will have a diamond-shaped chassis, front and rear brake rotors measuring 298mm and 220mm, respectively, and 37mm USD front forks with 130mm of travel.

Instead of the 110/70-17M front and 140/70-17M rear tires, we would have preferred bigger tires. For straight-line stability, the bike has a low 780mm seat height and a 1,380 mm-long wheelbase. To climb any illogical speed breaker in India, 160mm of ground clearance, similar to the now-discontinued R3, should be sufficient. The MT-03 will weigh 168kg with 14L of fuel in the tank.

The parallel-twin engine has a DOHC layout, a 321cc displacement, and is coupled to a 6-speed transmission. The KTM 390 Duke’s power output, 42 PS at 10,750 RPM and 29.6 Nm at 9,000 RPM are comparable to those of its main competitors.
