Bentley Bentayga facelift images found online
Bentley will soon announce the mid-life update for its popular Bentayga SUV. As far as overall styling and features go, this update will put the SUV more in-line with the latest line-up of the brand. The first set of images that surfaced online seem to have been taken from a launch brochure, revealing in part the refreshed styling and new-look interior of the Bentayga.
The Bentley Bentayga maintains the distinctive grille upfront but gets a reconfigured headlight configuration to match that of the Continental and Flying Spur – which introduced following the introduction of the Bentayga in 2016. It also gets a revised bumper, full of more chrome, along with newly styled lower intakes of air finished with the same grid pattern.
The rear end configuration was not revealed but recently seen test mules indicated that the brake lights were reshaped and extended whilst the deep number plate recess of the new model seems to have been carried in.
Interior improvements look equally slight. The updated photos show a revamped console-style core and reshaped instrument panel, but the absence of physical buttons on the infotainment screen side is more important.
The current car’s infotainment system is often criticized for feeling outdated alongside cheaper Audi and Porsche siblings, so it looks like the latest system from the Continental GT and Flying Spur has been introduced, while the range of active safety technology should be advancing.
It is planned that the flagship W12 engine will undergo updates to improve performance but don’t expect anything drastic around the board. The V8 is also relatively new, while after a long delay the six-cylinder plug-in hybrid model is still not on sale.
Questions persist over the diesel brand, reportedly axed from the company’s line-up in 2018. Back then, a change in attitude towards the fuel was blamed for its removal, but since then, sister brand Audi has introduced several large-capacity S-badged diesel models to its range.
Expect more info to appear on the refreshed Bentley Bentayga in the coming weeks.
