BMW 530i M Sport Carbon Edition Launched -Priced At INR 66.30 Lakh

In India, BMW has introduced a new ‘Carbon Edition’ of the 5 Series car. The new BMW 530i M Sport Carbon Edition comes with a distinctive external carbon package and bespoke inside upholstery and is priced at Rs 66.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The vehicle is being built locally at BMW’s Chennai facility and will be available for bookings starting today.

Although it is more expensive than the 530d diesel M Sport variation, the new 530i M Sport Carbon Edition is the new top-spec petrol variant in the line-up. It costs Rs 3 lakh more than the 530i M Sport model on which it is based.

The exterior of the BMW 530i M Sport Carbon has been updated the most, with a carbon-fiber kit. The kidney grille, an extra new front splitter, and the external mirror caps have all been given the dark black carbon fiber treatment. The 18-inch alloy wheels, which have also been coated in jet black, continue the black theme. It gets a new carbon fiber spoiler at the back to complete the design. The Alpine White paint color is only available on this model of the 5 Series.

The dashboard of the BMW 530i M Sport Carbon is identical to that of the normal 5 Series, with the exception of new perforated Sensatec trim in a Cognac/Black color combination with contrast stitching. The basic 5 Series equipment list is also the same. That means it’ll have a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, powered seats, a fully digital instrument cluster, four-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, gesture control, BMW virtual assistant, remote parking, reversing assistant, and more.

Only the 530i M Sport model is available with the Carbon Edition. It’s driven by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine with 252 horsepower and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds.

In India, the BMW 5 Series comes with two diesel engines: a 190hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 265hp 3.0-liter inline-six – but neither is available with the new carbon package.
