Golden Thunder Edition of BMW 8 Series unveiled
The BMW 8 Series Golden Thunder Edition is the German carmaker 's new limited edition model. Such versions come with different design improvements on both the inside and the outside. This limited edition will be available in all three body style versions-Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe. They remain mechanically identical with their regular counterparts though.
What gives the special version its name (Golden Thunder Version) is the golden highlights all over the BMW 8 Series exterior. Only with either Sapphire black metallic or Frozen black metallic finish can one have the special version. The gold inserts cover the whole lower part of the car, extending from the front aprons to the side skirts and returning to the lower part of the rear bumper. The gold finishes even the 20-inch M wheels, wing mirrors, and M boot lip spoiler. Also, all of the regular car's chrome accents shift to gloss black, as do the brake calipers.
All is covered inside in black Merino leather trim and the seat headrests are engraved 'Edition Golden Thunder' on them. Sport gold is also built into the center console in the interiors. The roof lining is coated in Anthracite Alcantara on the versions of the Coupe and Gran Coupe. All the special edition models are also equipped with the crystal gear selector 'Crafted clarity' from BMW and a premium surround sound system from Bowers & Wilkins.

BMW launched the 8 Series Gran Coupe and performance-oriented M8 Coupe. The former is available in two 840i Gran Coupe and 840i Gran Coupe M Sport versions with a 340hp, 3.0-liter straight-six turbo-petrol engine, priced between Rs 1.30-1.55 crore. The BMW 8 Series Coupe comes with a 600hp, 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 petrol engine exclusively in its M8 guise and is priced at Rs 2.15 crore. Nonetheless, there have been no announcements yet about the availability of the special edition in our market.
