Honda Shine 100 Launched At A Price Of Rs 64,900

The brand-new Honda Shine 100 is now available in India for only Rs 64,900. (ex-showroom, Mumbai, introductory price). The updated Shine 100 complies with OBD-2 and can use E20 fuel (petrol with 20 percent ethanol blend). The new bike will be the most reasonably priced Honda model available in India.

An entirely new 99.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 7.6hp and 8.05Nm at 6,000rpm powers the Shine 100. These numbers are remarkably similar to those of Hero’s rivals. An entirely redesigned diamond structure created just for the Shine 100 houses this new engine. The Shine 100 should be an accessible bike to ride while being able to handle our rough roads thanks to its low 1,245mm wheelbase, accessible 786mm seat height, and 168mm of ground clearance.

According to the manufacturer, the Shine 100’s engine has been optimized to give “better fuel efficiency” and is OBD-2 and E20 fuel compatible.

It also has an auto-choke feature that guarantees the bike starts regardless of the outside temperature as well as a fuel pump on the exterior of the fuel tank to make repairs simple.

A halogen headlight, a side-stand inhibitor, and a combined brake system are added to the Shine 100. The majority of the opposition in the class for the Honda Shine 100 comes from its main opponent, Hero MotoCorp. Hero has four models in this market sector, all of which are priced between Rs 54,962 and Rs 75,840: the HF 100, HF Deluxe, Splendor+, and Splendor+ XTEC. Bajaj only has the Platina 100, which retails for Rs 67,475, as a competitor in this market. The Shine 100 comes with a three-year guarantee from Honda, which may be extended for an additional three years if desired.

Over one-third of all two-wheeler sales in India are in the basic 100cc bike sector, so the new Shine 100 will be a key product for the Japanese powerhouse in that market. With the new Shine 100, Honda hopes to expand its current 3.5 percent market share in rural areas.
The new Shine 100 is presently taking reservations, and production is scheduled to start the following month. Deliveries are anticipated to commence in May 2023.
