Hyundai i20 N Revealed With 204hp And 1.6-Litre Turbo Petrol Engine

The Hyundai i20 N was eventually shown to be the lowest-performing hatchback in the brand.

The latest i20 N is Hyundai’s highest-performance hatchback version. The manufacturer says the sporty i20 N is inspired by the popular i20 World Rally Championship (WRC) brand.

A new 1,6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine is at the heart of the i20 N’s output aspirations. Hyundai claims that i20 N does 0-100kph in 6,7secs, tuned for 204hp, and 275Nm of torque, and continues at a top speed of 230kph.

The latest engine uses an improved Turbo-loader and intercooler with an injecting fuel system of 350 bar and the latest CVVD technology for Hyundai. In contrast to the conventional configuration, CVVD is claimed to improve both performance and fuel efficiency.

The only gearbox of choice is a 6-speed manual that uses rev-matching technology for smoother downshifts. The Launch Control features and the optional mechanical, slip-limited (N Corner Carving Differential) differential allow front wheels to utilize all the power available.

The chassis of the current model i20 was replaced and updated by Hyundai, which resulted in a range of revised components and improvements in geometry. The steering mechanism is also specially calibrated and the front brakes are 40 mm bigger than the regular vehicle.

Like the larger i30 N, the i20 N provides a considerable way of personalizing driving mode using the N Grin device called Hyundai. With 5 modes, the drivers can change engine response, stability control, transmission, steering, and sound exhaustion parameters, including custom configuration. The latter contains both an exhaust valve and a sound generator for noise improvement.

The “left-foot braking calibration,” a wear indicator of brake pads, and Pirelli P Zero tires, which were built specifically in the car, also have motorsports-based features.
The i20 N is reworked with wider intakes, a red-accented lip spoiler, and an N symbol, while the red detail spreads to the wider side skirts and the fake rear diffuser. As far as possible. The i20 N A large single-exit exhaust system, but a power-boosting roof spoiler is the most prominent rear addition. Seven external colors are available with N-branded brake calipers surrounded by matt grey wheels.

Inside there are new sports seats for the steering wheel, gear knob, and pedals with integrated headrests as well as N branding. Black is the only color, but Hyundai N’s Output Blue has accents all over.

The LED “red areas” for rev counter which rely on the engine temperature include unique features for technical purposes. The Hyundai i20 N comes with the advanced driver assistance system of the Hyundai SmartSense. It includes forward-collision warning, front collision avoidance aid, lane starting alert, lane help, blind-spot collision warnings, intelligent speed limit aid, driver alert system including lead vehicle start the alarm, high-beam assists, rear-traffic collision alert, and parking guidance control.

Although no news of the hot Hyundai i20 N hitting our shores can be found, we can confirm that in the coming days, the next generation of i20 will be released in the normal way. The sporty Hyundai i20 N line will be brought to our shores while the India-specific new i20 could have its most powerful engine, a turbocharged 1.0 hp turbo petrol.
