Jeep Avenger Petrol Engine Specifications Revealed
The spotlight now shifts to the petrol-powered Avenger, the company’s smallest SUV, following the release of information about the Jeep Avenger EV. The engine and powertrain specifications have now been made public using the configurator on the company’s website. It will initially go on sale in Europe.
The Jeep Avenger will sport a front-wheel drive system and a 100-horsepower, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The top trim of the Citroen C3 built for the Indian market also has this engine, which produces 110 horsepower. The Avenger’s engine will only be mated to a manual transmission because an automatic transmission has not yet been announced; however, the C3 will soon be offered in India with an automatic transmission. The C3 and Avenger both utilise the CMP modular platform.
The Avenger SUV will come with Jeep’s Selec-Terrain off-road modes (Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, and Snow), which alter numerous parameters based on the mode, in both the ICE and EV variants.
The 54kWh battery constructed by Stellantis powers the Avenger EV’s electric motors, which produce 154 horsepower and 260 Nm and have a range of 400 kilometres.
The Avenger also features the customary seven-slot grille, split headlamps, and tiny LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) that are placed directly below the bonnet line. The 18-inch alloy wheels, a powerful shoulder line, squared-off tail lamps with X-shaped LED lighting, and a noticeable quantity of black body cladding are some of its other exterior characteristics.
The big 10.25-inch touchscreen and digital driver’s display are the centrepieces of the Avenger’s simple interior design. The dashboard features a body-coloured strip running the length of it that the rectangular AC vents are perfectly incorporated into. Along with other features, the SUV has ambient lighting, adaptive cruise control, dual-zone climate control, and rain-sensing wipers.
Jeep will introduce the Avenger in Europe during the first half of 2023, but it is still unclear whether the company would export the SUV to North America. Jeep is presently preparing to introduce the new Grand Cherokee, which will compete with the Mercedes GLE, BMW X5, and Land Rover Discovery, in India.
