Jeep Compass And Meridian Club Edition Launched
In India, Jeep has debuted new Club Edition versions of the Compass and Meridian SUVs. Both the Jeep Compass Club Edition and the Meridian Club Edition are priced ex-showroom in India at Rs 20.99 lakh and Rs 27,75 lakh, respectively. The availability of both Club Edition SUVs is restricted, and their pricing are only good through February 28.
The lowest trims of both SUVs—Sport for the Compass and Limited for the Meridian—serve as the foundation for the Compass and Meridian Club Edition versions. Only a distinctive sticker on the hood and a “Club Edition” emblem on the tailgate are the only modifications to both SUVs.
The pricing at which the Club Edition versions are offered, however, is unique. The base model upon which the Compass Club Edition is based is discounted by as much as Rs. 1.08 lakh. The gap is much higher for the Meridian Club Edition at Rs. 2.35 lakh.
One powertrain each is available for the Compass and Meridian Club Edition vehicles. The only engine offered in the Compass is the 163 horsepower, 1.4-liter turbo-petrol engine connected to a 7-speed DCT gearbox, while the only engine offered in the Meridian is the 170 horsepower, 2.0-liter diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The Club Edition variants of neither of the SUVs come with the 4×4 powertrain option.
The Compass and Meridian Club Edition vehicles’ standard basic trims’ equipment lists are not modified. The Compass is equipped with amenities like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, twin airbags, and ESC. Along with automatic LED projector headlights, larger 18-inch wheels, wireless charging, a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone air conditioning, and six airbags, the Meridian also has a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster.
The Hyundai Tucson, Citroen C5 Aircross, and Volkswagen Tiguan are competitors of the Compass. The Skoda Kodiaq is Meridian’s sole direct competition in India at the moment.
