Jeep Grand Cherokee To Launch On November 17 – Bookings Open
Prior to the SUV’s November 17 launch in India, Jeep has begun accepting reservations for the 2019 Grand Cherokee. Previously, the debut date was set for November 11. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is now being constructed at Jeep’s facility in Ranjangaon, making it the fourth model for the brand to be built there. By the end of November, deliveries of the SUV should start.
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is available in two configurations outside of India, but the larger three-row Grand Cherokee L won’t be marketed there. The SUV has amenities including a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen in the center. Even the front passenger gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen.
The Grand Cherokee also has ADAS technology, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and emergency braking for pedestrians. A panoramic sunroof and luxurious leather upholstery are further highlights.
In India, the previous-generation Grand Cherokee was available with both petrol and diesel engines, but the new version will only be supplied with a single 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine. The engine will be connected to an automated transmission with eight speeds. Jeep hasn’t yet disclosed the engine’s power levels, though. The new SUV has a configurable terrain mode Quadra-Trac I 4×4 System.
According to our sources, the new-generation Grand Cherokee would cost around Rs 85 lakh. It will face competition from other high-end SUVs on the market when it debuts, including the Mercedes-Benz GLE and the BMW X5.
