Mahindra XUV400 EV Launched At A Price of INR 15.99 Lakh

The XUV400 EV from Mahindra is available for Rs 15.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom, India). The first 5,000 units of each version are eligible for these introductory discounts. The brand’s first electric product is an SUV that was presented in September of last year. Beginning on January 26, Mahindra will accept reservations; deliveries are expected to start in March.

Mahindra XUV400 EV

The front axle-mounted electric motor in the Mahindra XUV400 is powered by two battery packs, measuring 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh each. This motor generates 150hp and 310Nm of torque. The Mahindra XUV400 EV, according to the manufacturer, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and has a peak speed of 150 km/h. Three driving settings for the XUV400 are Fun, Fast, and Fearless, which change the steering and throttle responsiveness as well as the amount of regenerative braking.

According to the Indian driving cycle, the 34.5kWh battery in the Mahindra XUV400 EV has a stated range of 375km, while the 39.4kWh battery has a claimed range of 456km (MIDC). A 50kW DC fast charger can charge it from 0 to 80 percent in 50 minutes. The electric SUV can also be charged from 0 to 100 percent in 13 hours with a 3.3kW AC charger or 6 hours and 30 minutes with a 7.2kW charger.

Mahindra XUV400 EV

Three variations of the Mahindra XUV400 EV are available from Mahindra: EC (3.3kW), EC (7.2kW), and EL (7.2kW). The top-spec model has over-the-air (OTA) upgrades for connected car technologies, a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Mahindra’s AdrenoX software, and a single-pane sunroof. Up to six airbags are included, along with disc brakes on all four wheels, an IP67 battery pack certification, and ISOFIX anchorages as safety features.

The Tata Nexon EV, which costs between Rs 14.99 lakh and Rs 19.84 lakh, competes with the XUV400. Additionally, it will face competition from the MG ZS EV, whose costs vary from Rs 22.98 lakh to Rs 26.90 lakh. It will also compete with the $23.84 lakh Hyundai Kona Electric. Prices are all “ex-showroom,” India.
