Maruti Suzuki Jimny To Launch On June 7
On June 7, Maruti Suzuki will reveal the Jimny SUV’s price in India, according to our reliable sources. The Jimny, along with the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, will join the expanding category of lifestyle off-roaders when it debuts this year.
Since the Jimny’s debut at the Auto Expo earlier this year, Maruti has reportedly received around 30,000 reservations for the SUV.
There will be two trim levels for the Jimny: Zeta and Alpha. According to dealer sources, production will be prioritized for the top-spec Alpha trim because it has been seeing greater demand. Jimny’s most popular color options to date are Bluish Black, Kinetic Yellow, and Pearl Arctic White.
Auto LED headlights, a 9-inch touchscreen, the SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, Cruise control, and an Arkamys sound system are among the features included with the Alpha model. Six airbags, ESP with the hill-hold assist, hill-descent control, a rearview camera, and ABS with EBD are among the additional safety features it has.
A single 1.5-liter normally aspirated K15B petrol engine that produces 105 horsepower and 134.2 Nm of torque powers the Jimny. Both a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox are options for this vehicle. The manual version of the Maruti claims a mileage of 16.94 kpl, while the automatic version achieves 16.39 kpl.
The Suzuki AllGrip Pro 4WD system, which consists of a manual transfer case and a low-range gearbox with “2WD-high,” “4WD-high,” and “4WD-low” modes, is also included with the ladder-frame-supported Jimny.
The Jimny’s price range is projected to be between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom), leaving it without any direct competitors when it debuts. However, Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha will be competitors for their positioning and off-road capability.
