Maserati MC20 Priced Arrived In India At A Price Of Rs 3.69 Crore
About two years after we originally informed you of Maserati’s plans to introduce the MC20 supercar in India in July 2021, we now know the vehicle’s pricing. Priced at Rs 3.69 crore (ex-showroom, India), the Maserati MC20 is still without any extras selected.
The MC20 is Maserati’s first completely new model to be introduced in India in a number of years, and it competes with vehicles like the Porsche 911 Turbo S, Lamborghini Huracan, and Ferrari 296 GTB.
Originally, the MC20 was expected to land in India much sooner in 2022. Nevertheless, it won’t begin shipping to customers until much later, with the first one scheduled to be delivered in May 2023, according to our dealer sources.
The mid-engined Maserati MC20, which is essentially a spiritual successor to the MC12 supercar from 2004, is the brand’s first vehicle to have an in-house-developed engine in more than 20 years. The engine, known as Nettuno, is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 630 horsepower and 730 pound-feet of torque. An 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission transfers power to the rear wheels.
Maserati claims a sprint time from 0 to 100 km/h of under 2.9 seconds and a peak speed of more than 325 km/h. With a stated curb weight of under 1,500kg and a power-to-weight ratio of more than 420hp per tonne, the Maserati MC20 makes considerable use of carbon fiber and other lightweight components.
The MC20’s design is obviously influenced by the original MC12 and as a result, features a classic sports-coupe form. With flowing lines and sparse use of aerodynamic add-ons—aside from a tiny rear spoiler for increased downforce—it has a relatively uncluttered appearance. The butterfly doors that take you inside, where the minimalist motif is continued, are particularly beautiful.
The inside is fairly plain and covered with carbon-fiber Alcantara or leather, free of obtrusive lines and textures. A 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and digital instrument display are also there, although the carbon fiber-covered center console only has a drive mode selector, a wireless smartphone holder, infotainment controls, and a few other minor amenities.
