Mercedes Maybach S-Class Launched At INR 2.50 Crore

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is now available in India, with prices starting at Rs 2.50 crore (ex-showroom, India). The luxury limousine comes in two models: the locally assembled S580 and the CBU import S680. The S680 is the most expensive Maybach model on the market in India, with a starting price of Rs 3.20 crore (ex-showroom, India).

Mercedes Maybach S-Class

The new Maybach, like its predecessor, is based on the latest V223 (long-wheelbase) S-Class luxury sedan, with the wheelbase stretched by 180mm and a more opulent and spacious cabin.

To begin, the Maybach’s stretched wheelbase is visible from the side, as is the rear door, which is noticeably larger. The nose now sports the trademark vertical louvered Maybach grille, as well as additional chrome detailing on the front bumper. The model-specific alloy wheels, as well as the Maybach badging and logos on the tailgate and C-pillars, are other Maybach-specific cosmetic changes. The Maybach S680 can also be customized with dual-tone exterior color schemes and other features.

The cabin, too, is similar to the new S-Class, though buyers can opt for Maybach-specific interior trims and leather upholstery. Maybach-specific graphics are used on all displays and the central touchscreen.

Because of the longer wheelbase, occupants in the back will have more room to stretch out. The Maybach gets powered rear seats – individual seats separated by a full-length floor console in the S 680 – with the rear left passenger being able to completely stretch out – the push of a button moves the unoccupied co-driver seat forward while also reclining the backrest and extending the leg rest.

In terms of technology, the Maybach S-Class includes everything from the S-Class and more. Individual climate zones, powered front, and rear seats, heated and ventilated seats, seat massage function, chauffer package, a panoramic sunroof, power close rear doors with gesture control, rear-seat entertainment screens, a 1,750W Burmester 4D sound system, 360-degree camera, and hands-free parking are among the available features.

The Mercedes Maybach S-Class also has level 2 autonomous technology, including evasive steering assist, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep, and lane change assist. The Maybach S-Class comes standard with 13 airbags.

The Mercedes Maybach S-Class is available with two engines: a 4.0-liter V8 mild-hybrid (S 580) and a more powerful 6.0-liter V12 (S 680). The S 580 produces 503hp and 700Nm, with the mild-hybrid system providing an additional boost of up to 20hp and 200Nm when accelerating hard. Meanwhile, the S 680 produces 612hp and 900Nm of torque. Both engines come standard with a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.
