MG Gloster Being Tested Before Diwali Launch.
MG Motor (Morris Garages) has been spotted testing their new flagship car, the MG Gloster on Indian roads ahead of its launch in November 2020 around the festival of Diwali this year. The Gloster is being prepared to rival the segment leader, the Toyota Fortuner. It was revealed at the 2020 Auto Expo held earlier this year and it managed to pull a large crowd towards it.
The Gloster is based on the Maxus D90 (being sold in China), the car will be the top of the line vehicle MG Motor has to offer and expected to cater to customers who prefer large SUVs. Talking about the design of the car, the front of the Gloster gets a huge grille along with angular LED DRLs, in the rear it has a dual exhaust system with chrome tips with Gloster written across in the middle part of the rear across the width of the car. It has massive Wheel Arches and has Roof Rails with 19-inch Alloy Wheels fitted with 255/55 R19 Continental tyres, all of this is fitted onto a light-truck ladder-frame chassis!
The interior is spacious with seating capacity for 7 people and filled with high-quality plastics and a premium fit and finish. It has got a massive 12.3 inch Touchscreen Infotainment System coupled with an 8.0-inch Multi-Information Instrument Cluster Display and Connected Car Tech. The Gloster might only get a diesel engine option in India, as SUVs of this size in India come only with a diesel engine option. It may get a 2.0-litre Twin Turbo Diesel motor that produces 218bhp of power and 480nm of torque.
The pricing for the MG Gloster is expected to be above Rs 40 Lakhs.
