New KONA N Line Launched By Hyundai Motors

Finally, Hyundai Motor Company launched the latest improved Kona and also an all-new Kona N Line series.
The exterior design of the SUV is updated with different improvements which make it even more appealing. At the same time, Hyundai is expanding its SUV lineup with the launch of the all-new sporty KONA N line. This will be the entry point to the high-performance N brand from Hyundai, which is characterized by signature fascia, body-color cladding, and wide rear spoiler as well as distinctive styling accents from N Model.

“Interestingly, there is a happy vibe that I feel is popular with a lot of Kona drivers,” said SangYup Lee, Senior Vice President, Head of Hyundai Global Design Center. “Our design inspiration comes from this optimistic spirit, and that’s a commitment to all the explorers out there who explore life with a smile.”

The new KONA is 40 mm longer than the previous model, giving it a sleeker and more elegant look that complements its large, powerful visual stance. KONA will be available for the first time as an N Line edition with the latest product upgrade, combining the power of a fun car with a sporty appearance. The KONA N Line is notable for its front and rear end, body-color cladding, and diamond-cut wheel style inspired by Motorsports.

It is characterized by the front bumper’s dynamic features, which are harmoniously connected and unified with the wheel arch cladding body-color treatment. Instead of the current KONA ‘s rugged skid plate, the N Line version features a distinctive aerodynamic lip in N-style with low-lying corner fins for a road-hugging look. Larger, more technical features of air intake are further distinguished by their unique mesh design and surface treatment.

Moreover, in addition to 16-inch wheels carried over from its predecessor, the new model comes with a revised 17- or 18-inch wheel configuration. KONA Hybrid comes with the same 16- or 18-inch wheels as before.

The top-spec variant of the New KONA N Line is an equipped 1.6-liter T-GDI Smart-stream engine with a dual-clutch 7-speed transmission that delivers 195 bhp of power. This power-train will be available in configurations of both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.

The New KONA N Line will be fitted with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology to improve fuel efficiency. This technology is applied to the 1.6-liter Smart-stream diesel engine that produces 134bhp of power as normal. It comes with a 7-speed DCT (7DCT) or 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (6iMT) and optional four-wheel drive.

The 1.0-liter T-GDI Smart-stream engine can be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional four-wheel drive if selected without mild-hybrid technology.

The New KONA N Line redesigned interior is reflecting a more luxurious and inclusive look than its predecessor. The cabin looks spacious and provides more space and comfort with extra cargo capacity and rear-seat legroom. This is in addition to a large infrastructure update that leads to the thorough modernization of the interior.

Other upgrades that lead to the higher quality of the interior include new ambient lighting technology that illuminates the center cup holders as well as the passenger and driver side footwells, as well as new aluminum finishing, rings around the speakers, and air vents.

The New KONA N Line comes with a 10.25-inch optical array, first seen in the all-new European i20 model. Additionally, the New KONA N Line also comes with an optional 10.25-inch AVN screen, which also includes a split-screen mode and several Bluetooth connexions, as well as other networking functions.

KONA also comes with the latest update to the Blue Connection, which includes user profile, last-mile navigation, linked routing, live parking information, and more. Using either Virtual Reality or Google Maps, the Last Mile Navigation lets clients continue the journey to their destination even after the car is parked. As standard, the new KONA is fitted with seven to eight-inch Monitor Audio and DAB radio. It’s also upgraded to the Monitor Audio system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play for easy wireless communication between their phones.
