Renault Duster turbo-petrol to launch soon
Renault India is also working on the new Kiger compact SUV which is scheduled to be launched in India in October later this year. In terms of styling, no significant improvements will be made to either the Renault Duster turbo-petrol’s exterior or interior over the regular edition.
That being said, it will have more features on the top-spec RXZ model, such as fuel-saving engine stop-start, remote cabin pre-cooling, automatic climate control, cruise control, hill-start assist, an 8-inch touchscreen and more. Only a new set of 17-inch aluminum wheels should have that.
A latest 1,3-liter turbocharged petrol model (codenamed HR13) with direct injection will be the engine in question. It produces a torque of 156hp and 250Nm, making it one of the most powerful gasoline offerings in the mid-size SUV segment. It will be equipped with both a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. In the newly released Nissan Kicks turbo petrol, the same engine is also equipped.
It can also be remembered that the 106hp, 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated petrol engine of the BS6 Renault Duster will continue to be sold, but it will only be available in lower trims and with a manual gearbox alternative.
Considering that many engine components will be imported, for now, the Duster 1.3 turbo-petrol prices are expected to be a step higher than the 1.5 petrol version. While well aware closer to its introduction, the Duster is still expected to offer a good value for money compared to its rivals.
The Renault Duster turbo-petrol will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the Nissan Kicks as for those rivals.
