Tata Motors has launched the EV version of it’s Nexon SUV, it is the first electric SUV to be developed and manufactured in India.
The Nexon EV is based on the facelifted version of the Nexon SUV and comes in three trims, XM, XZ Plus and XZ Plus Luxe. It will be sold through Croma via a store-in-store concept at their outlets across 60 stores in 22 cities.
Test drives can be booked online on their site here, and tata will install charging stations for paying customers free of cost at their homes and more than 300 Tata Power Fast-Charging Stations will be availble across the country in select cities by Match 2020 and will go up to 650 stations by 2021. Buyers can charge their Nexon EV at preferential rates there and on-demand mobile charging will be available in Bangalore, Delhi Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad.
The Nexon EV has a Front Wheel Drive setup with a permanent magnetic AC motor that pumps out 129 PS of power and 245 NM of torque coupled with a 30.2 kWh battery pack which is IP67 rated for dust and water ingress.
Tata offers a standard warrany of 8 years or 1,60,000 kms, whichever is earlier on the battery and the motor and 3 years or 1,25,000 kms, whichever comes earlier, on the vehicle.
It is being offered in three colors- Signature Teal Blue, Moonlit Silver and Glacier White with dual-tone colour options being available on mid and top spec trims.
