Toyota RAV4 Hybrid SUV India To Launch On 2021
Toyota aims to launch its RAV4 hybrid SUV in India by mid-2021, in an attempt to further expand its portfolio of products. The combination would most likely be a CBU to be imported under the 2500 restricted unit allocation.
One of Toyota ‘s worldwide popular products, the RAV4 is currently in its fifth generation. It’s not a full-blown SUV with huge dimensions, based on Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform.
It is 4600 mm long, 1855 mm wide, and 1685 mm high and has a 2690 mm wheelbase. It also has a rather generous boot room (measured till the roof) of over 700 liters.
With its large bumper, large grille and lower air dam, sleek headlights all give it the distinctive Toyota look, the RAV4 hybrid has good looks too. While there are a few creases here and there on the side profile and a large wheel arch gap, as is fitting for an SUV, the glass area appears to be a little tiny in photos.
The tailgate at the back is wide and also blends with the portion of the bumper, the taillights are connected by a styling strip and there is a slight spoiler on the tailgate as well.
The Toyota RAV4 hybrid is minimalist in the interior and at best practical. Around the infotainment screen, center console, air vents, door keys, etc., there are chrome touches, but this varies depending on the model as Toyota also provides color-coded parts.
Thus, the outside and the inside could shift in sport and it all depends on what Toyota’s trim level brings to India. To say the least, we expect the SUV to be fully loaded.
Powering the RAV4 will be a 2,5-liter hybrid-powered petrol engine, putting out 218 HP and matching it to a CVT. The hybrid system will boost the fuel economy of the SUV and it will also provide an all-wheel drive. The SUV will cost about Rs. 60 lakhs (ex-showroom) when the Toyota RAV4 India launch takes place.
