The significantly redesigned engine is the most noticeable change on the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP. It currently has a 164.9 cc single-cylinder engine with four valves that produce 19.2 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and 14.2Nm of torque at 8,750 rpm. The RTR 160 4V, for example, produces 17.5hp at 9,250 rpm and 14.73Nm at 7,250 rpm. The RTR 165 RP has a substantially higher power output than any other 160cc motorbike on the market in India.

“15 percent bigger valves controlled by Hi-Lift Hi-Duration cams and dual spring actuators for racier engine performance,” according to TVS. “A revised bore stroke ratio of 1.37 that allows free-revving up to the redline” and “a new dome piston for a higher compression ratio” are among the other adjustments.

A slipper clutch, as well as adjustable brake and clutch levers, are included on the bike. The 5-speed transmission is still in service. The frame and brakes appear to be identical to the RTR 160 4V in terms of mechanical components. The suspension has been retuned for this bike, according to TVS. It doesn’t have the adjustable suspension that the RTR 200 4V has. It weighs 2kg more than the RTR 160 4V with rear disc brakes, at 148kg.

The design is similar to the RTR 160 4V, however, it has a different color scheme and seat cover. The model will likewise be limited to 200 units, according to TVS.
