Volkswagen Virtus Has Been Spotted In Mumbai
The Volkswagen Virtus has been spotted in Mumbai. For more than a year this new car has been on sale outside the U.S. and the left drive test mule contained in these spy shots appears to be the same as the sale in South America.
Volkswagen Vitrus that was spied in India, is most likely to be a replacement for Vento in the Indian market. The derivative from the modular MQB A0 model also serves the emerging Volkswagen T-Cross SUV market. This platform is very similar to the indigenous MQB A0 IN architecture that forms the basis of the future Volkswagen Taigun SUV in India, which is part of the T-Cross’s fundamental architecture. The sedan replacing Vento in India is also part of the Virtus fundamental architecture and structure, and is also based on the MQB A0 IN platform.
The sedan will debut by the end of 2021 and launch in 2022. As far as powertrains are concerned, the Vento Replacement comes with a 1.0 TSI turbo-petrol engine with an automatic transmission 6-speed manual, and 6-speed torque converter.
Although the sedan is projected to grow considerably larger than its outgoing Vento, the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, and Toyota Yaris will continue to compete on the Indian market.
