2020 Hyundai i20 Launched At Rs 6.80 Lakh

The 2020 Hyundai i20 has just been introduced in India, starting at Rs 6.80 lakh for petrol versions and starting at Rs 8.20 lakh for diesel versions.

In terms of mechanicals, two petrol and one diesel engine options are being offered in India for the third-gen Hyundai i20.
The petrol units in question would be 1.2-liter petrol that is good for 83hp and 115Nm of torque, naturally aspirated. A 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine is also available, producing 120hp and 172Nm of torque.

The 1.2-liter engine will come with the option of both a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox in terms of gearbox options (which gets 5hp more than the manual with 88hp). A 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox (like in the Venue) and an iMT (clutch-less manual) gearbox are included with the 1.0-liter.

A 100hp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder unit that is also present in the Venue is the diesel engine in question. Hyundai only supplies the engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox in the latest i20 as of now.

It is much sportier and sharper than the Elite i20 it replaces when it comes to the style of the all-new i20. On the latest i20, Hyundai has made use of its ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language. The new and wider ‘cascading grille’ design, new headlights, and DRL design, as well as the new taillights with angular Z-shaped, LED inserts have resulted in this.

The 2020 Hyundai i20 will also be offered by the Korean carmaker in six color choices, including Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Starry Night, and Metallic Copper. Over and above this, two dual-tone finishes are also available for the i20-Polar White with Black Roof and Fiery Red with Black Roof.

With features, Hyundai has packed the latest i20 to the brim. With Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Hyundai’s ‘BlueLink’ connected car features, the top-spec Asta (O) trim gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. A digital instrument cluster, a 7 speaker Bose sound system, a sunroof, a wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, and much more are also included with this trim.

2020 Hyundai i20

The 2020 Hyundai i20 will compete in the luxury hatchback segment in India, much like its predecessor. This means the likes of Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz will be taken over.
