2021 Audi S5 Sportback Facelift To Launch In India On March 22
Audi India to launch the long-awaited S5 Sportback facelift on 22 March. With this medium-cycle upgrade, the performance-oriented version of the Audi A5 is designed with tweaks and more technology.
In contrast to the outgoing model, the 2021 Audi S5 Sportback gets an updated bumper, deeper air intakes, and a wider front grille with honeycomb inserts. The updated Matrix LED headlamps, new LED tail lamps, and a new rear diffuser are available as standard. Being an S model it receives silver highlights across the front grill and the lamp cluster, the mirrors, the glass, and the back diffusers. New alloy wheels accompany the updates.
In the cockpit, Audi has carried out a new 10,1-inch touch-button with the current iteration of the Audi MMI interface from the older S5 rotary infotainment controller. In addition, an up-to-date navigation app is provided for the 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster.
A 3,0-Liter V6 TFSI turbo gasoline engine that releases 354hp and 500Nm of torque will fuel the Audi S5 Sportback facelift in the Indian market. In addition to the permanent all-around drive, the engine is combined with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. With a restricted top speed of 250kph, the Audi S5 Sportback has 5 modes-dynamic, comfortable, automobile, individual and powerful.
However, Audi has launched the S5 Sportback line-up internationally with a 350-hp 3.0-liter TDI V6 diesel engine. This engine option is not however available on our market.
The 2021 Audi S5 Sportback is competing with the BMW M340i xDrive and the Mercedes-AMG C 43 in India, which were unveiled recently.
Audi India is currently offering retailers of the RS7 and RSQ8 models A4, A6, and A8 L sedans, Q2 and Q8 SUVs.
As far as upcoming models are concerned, Audi announced that in the first half of 2021, Audi will launch the all-electric e-Tron SUV and the e-Tron Sportback in India.
