2021 Harley Davidson Sportster S Unveiled – Now Comes With Revolution Max engine
The 2021 Harley-Davidson Sportster S has been unveiled with the Revolution Max engine.
The 2021 Harley Davidson Sportster S’s powerplant is unquestionably its showpiece. It is powered by Harley-Revolution Davidson’s Max engine, which debuted on the Pan America 1250. While it produces roughly 30 horsepower less in this application, at 121 horsepower, it still outperforms other Harley models with similar engine capacities.
The engine can rev up to 9,500rpm, but it’s been designed to provide more torque at lower and mid-range RPMs. From 3,000 to 6,000 rpm, Harley claims it produces up to 10% more torque than its adventure cycle, with a peak torque of 114Nm. The 1,250cc engine also includes modern innovations such as liquid cooling, DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshafts), and VVT (Variable Valve Timing) (Variable Valve Timing).
This Harley also has a 6-speed transmission and a slipper clutch. Around 4.0-inch-diameter TFT screen displays instruments and infotainment functions on the Sportster S variant. This display will connect to cellphones through Bluetooth to provide navigation and other features.
Not only that, but the 2021 Harley Davidson Sportster S also has a six-axis inertial measurement unit, or IMU, which works in tandem with the traction control system to maintain grip levels. The bike also boasts a Cornering Enhanced Antilock Braking System (C-ABS), which is a type of ABS that considers the motorcycle’s lean angle. There are four ride modes on the Sportster S: road, sport, rain, and custom. All-LED lighting, cruise control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system are among the other amenities.
The engine is a stressed element of the chassis, hence the typical frame isn’t necessary. Thanks to a sturdier chassis, Harley claims that this has helped decrease weight and improved handling. A fully adjustable USD fork and mono-shock handle the suspension. The front brakes on the Sportster S are a 320mm disc with a four-piston, radial monoblock Brembo calliper, while the rear brakes are a two-piston Brembo calliper with a 260mm disc.
